Hello crafty people, Today I am gonna share with
you, how I altered an old embroidery hoop into something creative and eye
catchy to hang on the wall, something that
tell a new story whenever you have an eye on it.
keep the embroidery hoop aside and took a pattern paper of my choice and cut it to the size of the hoop. I then distressed the edges of the paper using a pair of scissors and inked the edges with the matching color ink as that of paper.
Then I took another contrasting pattern paper and cut it 1 / 4 inch smaller then the previous pattern paper and distressed and ink it in the same way as I did with the previous pattern paper.
I layered the smaller pattern paper in the center of the bigger pattern paper and glued it in place using double sided foam tape for dimension.
After that I covered the entire thing with a thin coat of clear gesso and let it dry.

Once the gesso is dried completely, I applied the above made textured gel through a doily stencil using a pallet knife to give some extra feel to the project. let it dry,
Then I started lairing my composition using tags and other paper elements from various paper packs. I used double sided foam tape to give dimension to the paper embellishments on each layer so that each layer can be visible separately, and whole composition wont lay flat.
Also added some flower, buttons and other embellishments to bind the composition together and make it look fuller and complete.
For the focal point I used picture of my niece layered with a paper frame and a paper crown. added sentiments "BLESSINGS" and "DREAM".
After that I took the embroidery hoop and covered its edges with white gesso. let it dry.
Once it is dried I started coloring it with light peach color and let it dry.
Then I glued my above made composition on to the embroidery hoop.
For the final touch to the project I took a pink ribbon and tied it in a bow on the top of the hoop and glued a flower bling in the center of the bow.
And with that our Altered shabby chic embroidery hoop is ready to be displayed on the wall.
